We’re excited to announce support for 802.1x authentication on our entire line of enterprise network switches with the release of firmware version 1.2k. This will allow larger networks with VoIP phones and other 802.1x-compliant hardware to authenticate themselves on to the network. Devices that do not support the standard can optionally be placed into a fallback VLAN that, for example, only provides internet access.
We’re also excited to announce the release of our self-hosted local controller. It is currently in beta phase, but it will allow users to have complete control over their Alta Labs networks, and will be the basis of our upcoming hardware appliance controller.
